Meet Our Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors is a team of graduates from the United States Military Academy at West Point who felt a call to service outside of the Army.

Scott Lee
President/Founder
Scott was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from West Point, and went on to serve as an Army Engineer Officer. During his time on active duty, he earned a M.S. in Finance from Liberty University. After mentoring several Army Soldiers about financial responsibility, and witnessing the impact it had on their lives, he realized his passion for financial education and began his journey to create the Good Need Project.

Koi Kizzie
Vice President
Koi was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina but claims Atlanta, Georgia as home. She earned her B.S. in History from West Point, and went on to serve as a U.S. Army Armor Officer. She is a published author who founded The Reckoning Press, a publishing agency who’s goal is to help underserved communities access publication resources. Koi is a dedicated philanthropist and aspires to become a lawyer in the coming years. She has dedicated her life to helping others and is inspired by the Good Need Project’s mission.

Avery Austin
Treasurer/Web Developer
Avery is from Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated from West Point with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Information Systems Management and Business Intelligence/ Data Analytics from Carnegie Mellon University. Raised by a single mother, he understands how much external support can impact a household. With that perspective, he’s excited to bring the same support to others.

Macauley Hoyt
Secretary/Head of Operations
Mac is from Albany, New York and graduated from West Point with a B.S. in Systems Engineering. He is currently an assistant project manager for the largest civil works project in Texas where he focuses on scheduling and budgeting. As a believer in Christ, he believes that giving and supporting others is paramount, and the Good Need Project allows him to reach people that need support the most.
